Will not start intermittently

So I think I have a switch going out somewhere. Almost every time I turn the key to start the truck, nothing happens, no clicks, just my "brake" light lights up on the dash. I am thinking it is a column switch, I forget the name, the one that prevents the truck from starting in any gear except park and neutral. I think it might be that because if I move the shifter around and cycle it throughout the gears and back into park it will start eventually.

Are these switches prone to go out? Also, the ignition switch tumbler was recently replaced (Jan), maybe it was a bad install and that is causing the problem.

Has anyone had similar problems?

Thanks!
