72' 6" lift and trans change over

I lifted my 72' stepside 6"s and went from a 3 spd on the column to a 350turbo. Boy have i ran into problem after problem. Alot of the problem was me just not knowing what all i was going to have to change. The lift kit had 1" spacers to drop the cross member for a better angle on the drive shaft. This spacer will not work, my distributor is against the fire wall, tight and the fan is against the fan shroud at the top. So i took the spacers out and bolted the cross member against the frame. Is this going to put the drive shaft @ to bad of an angle? Or can i cut the brackets off the rearend and turn it up for a better angle? The cross member being against the frame made all the motor components back right. Or can i leave the spacers out and not move the rear end up, i just don't want to be tearing up u-joints?

Thanks ahead of time for any advice!!!!
