Hydro-boost brakes...Good?

I found a Hydro-Boost brake Booster with power steering pump that a neighbor is willing to sell for $50. He said it fits older GM trucks; it came out of 79 1 ton 4x4 Chevy. I have power brakes already but he said this set up is better than power brakes. Is anyone running this set up? Would it be a good deal? How does it compare to power brakes? How much do you guys think something like this is worth? Any advice or opinions would be appreciated. I will attach a pic.
