Ammeter Gauge

Who knows anything about these gauges? Mine has never worked. The needle just sits in the middle of the gauge. I've replaced the gauge itself and the printed circuit board and I've never even seen the needle twitch, even when my regulator crapped on me and the voltage when through the roof. I've done my best to check the connections that weren't wrapped up in the harness, no blown fuses, etc... The only thing I have now done is converted to an internally regulated alternator. But even before that, it never worked.

I have since installed a run-of-the-mill $10 volt meter under the dash, but I'd like to get the ammeter working too. Any suggestions?
