New guy from Atlanta
Hello all ........ been lurking & figured I'd finally sign in & say hello.
I recently sold my slamned '93 GMC burb on 20's & was looking for a truck to daily drive & play with. I'm in a full blown 1946 Ford coupe intercooled turbo'd SBC/5 speed/fab 9 with coils on all corners/willwood stoppers too. I also have it set up for tube A arms & a 4 link rear. It'll be very pro-touring styled & sitting 4" of the ground ........ so ..... I find a locally 4 sale 1978 step side with 89K original miles that had been owned by a older gent that passed 6 yrs. ago. The wife finally came to grips & unloaded the truck. It ha been garaged all its life so the body, glass & interior look as if they were in a time warp. It comes with a 305/auto/tan plaid interior with a rubber mat. It also sports the classic "rubber mat" floor cover. It's got a early 80's cassette with 1 factory speaker. The bed wood is prestine as it came with a nice little almn. camper cover (which I already removed). It has factory rally wheels - which will stay. It also has ad-on A/C that will be welcome here in the south. Tires a little factory style skinny blackwalls. They will be changed. I'm stoked! Plans are to dropp the front & rear & add a larger front & rear tire. I've already found a bucket set set with console from a late 70's blazer in tan no less. Someone has already removed the mufler & redid the exhaust from the cat back. I will be removing it & installing a muffler in its place. No emisions check on a truck this old here in Ga. - sweat. I will upload pix as soon as I figure how to resize them to photobucket. I'm already enjoying all of the talented peoples builds & upgrades. Paco aka/ Ratty 46 |
