Exclamation Hoses vs. Hard lines

I'm in the middle of reinforcing my frame on my 71 K5 and am also replacing/rerouting my brake, fuel and tranny lines. I currently have steel braided brake hoses connected to hard line (rear) and rubber fuel to hard line back to rubber to carb. The tranny has hard lines to rubber at the cooler.
What I'm really trying to get at... Is it a better idea just to run all steel braided hoses from front to back for all of them. I've been told by some off roading guys thats the way to go but have heard the opposite from the hot rod guys as well. If i do opt to go hoses, I would be using a 300psi rated hose with all the correct male/female connections.
