needs help getting it running

I got the tune up done on the suburban and i still cannot getting it running. Ive got a few issues that i know of, and probably some that i dont.

I just had this truck running last week and drove it all over the yard both friday and saturday.

1st issue- old nasty gas in the tank, so i have been pouring fuel down the carb to get it to fire. which has worked so far.

2nd issue- when you turn the key the truck will run, but the second you turn the key from the start position (when the starter is running) it dies instantly.

I know i need to drop the tank and replace the fuel lines to clean everything, but where should i start? I wouldnt mind getting it running again that way i know im not wasting my time.

Thanks!!
