This is a long story, need opinions.
Ok, here's the deal. I have been on this board for over a year and a half now and are faced with a huge dilemma. Several months ago I sold my 84 SWB for good money and decided to start a 2wd blazer project, mid 80's style. I bought an 88 model 4wd k5 for $2500 and began the transformation. That project ran out of gas when I found a 96 2 door 2 wheel drive tahoe. I have always wanted a 2dohoe and this one was pretty clean. It needed a new interior, but that was cool because I can do that kind of stuff. Anyway, I managed to part out the K5 and make my money back. So the hoe project began and I finished it in about 2 months. Complete new interior and new 4/6 drop with 20" centerline archer wheels. As a frequent visitor to this board i always kepth the itch to have another square body, 67-72 or 73-87 works for me, it doesnt really matter. I decided to put the tahoe up for sale and have had some decent offers. (10-12.5k) I was asking 14k. I was seriously considering the 12.5k offer when a gentlemen approached me about trading a 67 chevy truck and 72 2wd converted blazer (the blazers have always gave me wood. I know TMI) and a whole pile of parts. The guy said he has all of these new parts for projects that he wanted to start but quite frankly didnt have the time. He has a beautiful nine month old daughter and he wants to spend time with her and the family. I can sympathize as I have a little girl myself. He said he wanted a 2wdhoe and he would trade me all of this stuff for mine. This all sounds crazy and he knows what he has and he knows he is taking a substantial loss money wise. He is not an idiot by any means. He said he wants a good clean custom driver he can get in and go. My dilemma is should i trade and start a new project? I know the answer really depends on me and the amount of time and money i can dedicate to a project. This will probably be a 1-2 year build and pretty sure I can pull it off. I guess what I am really asking is do you think the value is there for all of the parts listed below. I am certain the answer is yes, but would like to hear some input from you guys.
BTW. I have met him and went to his house and saw a bunch of this stuff in person and he is one hell of a nice guy. Here is a partial parts list and pics of the vehicles involved. He has a lot of stuff not mentioned. Heck, we exchanged a bunch of emails and every other one he was adding stuff. I am going to have to print it out and reconcile the list just so when/if we do the deal i can get everything. My 2 door hoe Parts list and truck and blazer pics. The blazer does not look like the pics. It has had the firewall cut out and has not been replaced yet. plus some of the rusted panels have been cut out. 67 short and wide 70 model cab clean truck ran and drove when parked needed rotors and pads and exhaust 72 K5 roller good tub and floors and window frame new door skins Performa Built 4L65e 700RWHP rated new in box LS6 engine new wrapped in plastic New 243 Aluminum Heads New ARP Head Bolts and Engine Bolt Kit New Custom Ground Camshaft New LS6 Intake 20,000 Mile Fuel Injectors New Coil Packs Everything to put motor and tranny together with exception of Torque Converter Accessory Brackets for LS1 Wiring Harness and Computer for LS1 LS1 motor mounts for 67-72 All front end parts ball joint and things All rubbers for core support New radiator for K5 New cab mounts for K5 New firewall New core support not installed New inner fenders not installed New outer fenders not installed New bolts for the front end not installed New LED taillights not installed New Inner and outer rockers not installed Rocker boxes not installed Floor supports not installed Front and rear pillar parts not installed Rocker support panels not installed Original Blazer Bucket Seats with New Covers New Blazer Center Console Seat covers front and rear in plastic not installed New Complete wiring harness not installed New Tilt steering column not installed Complete 73-87 front cross member C notch kit New Roll Pan Headlight bezel Trim ring clips Trim Rings New Billet gauge holder New Bonspeed Vegas roulette wheel gauges 22 inch Lorinser Wheels Digital Air Ride Controller Re7 bags Front and Rear 3/8 Valves (qty 4) Chrome dual Viar 380 pumps Extra set of door skins Complete rubber kit for K5 New Dash Pad for K5 Extreme drop member for rear One off custom brakes for 5x5 C6 ZO6 by Kore 3 New Complete Interior for Truck (Carpet and Door Panels) Complete exhaust from C6 Z06 Complete Dash and Wiring from Z-28 Camaro 2 WD Trailing Arm Setup |
