Saturday pics (7-18) Two cruise-ins and a painful experience!

Hey guys! I had wanted to make the 1.5 hr drive to Canton for their big cruise in tonight but my wife was out of town and I was having trouble finding anyone to ride shotgun with me. I had about decided to head out and make it a solo trip when one of my buds asked me to come by a small cruise-in here in Lafayette. We chatted a few minutes and actually talked about loading up in my wifes 54 and making the drive on down to Canton. I also checked out a few rides while we were still in Lafayette.

I've been seeing this truck at cruise-ins in the area for years ( I think I actually posted a shot of it in last weeks pics as well) but tonight was the first time I ever got to talk to the owner. Turns out that he bought it new in 1972. It's a factory V8 Automatic, factory a/c and tach. It's been repainted it's original medium blue for about 15 yrs and is holding up nicely. It's got about 130K actual miles. He said that he had two kids, so anytime the family went somewhere they drove whatever other vehicle they might have owned at the time.

This super clean and freshly built looking Nova rolled in.

Looked serious to me.

We were about ready to roll on down to Canton when another bud rolled up in this Chevy II. It's a 40K actual mile car! Probably the most solid and well documented car I've seen in a while. It came with every piece of paperwork that had ever been written up for tha car detailing it's history.

Well, the Novas owner wanted to ride over the mountain to Trenton for it's cruise-in so we all loaded up in my wifes 54 and away we went.

Trenton is another small north georgia town. Their cruise wasn't very large but it was close to home and the setting was very nice. I just shot a couple of pics while we were there.

A bumpside Ford for Andy!
