the PO spray painted the seat black over the red velour. everywhere you put weight on it is wearing. even where i rest my hand while i'm driving at the passenger side back is wearing. haha that's why i'm in the market for a new cover. like one of you guys mentioned...i too was thinking it may be our seat with some different style cover, but from glancing at the other thread, it seems like it might be out of a pre-81 truck since it has the latch on the back. looking in page 113 of the latest LMC catalog seems to have settled the problem. they list the new covers in spans from 73-80 and then 81-87. they have a picture of the two and the 73-80 cover is on a seat that has the side bracket and side profile very similar to mine. the 81-87 seat has a slightly different side bracket and seems to flare slightly in front of the side bracket. looks like i need a 73-80 seat cover.
