The Evolution of a '64 shorty
I have been waiting 8 months to start this thread. I sold my '99 bagged ECSB silverado last week as a down payment for my wife's new cherokee. I finished the bag job on my brothers '62 stepside and got that out of my garage. Now I need only to collect my '64 from my folks farm and park it home in my garage to be completly dismantled!! This is my 2nd 60-66 era truck, but this is the first tiem that I really knew what i was doing (kinda!).
I still have the pictures the seller sent me last December when he sold it to me. The glass is all good, the rest of the truck......... well, it's a project. Paid $300 for this bad boy. Comes with a 350/350combo out of a Monte Carlo. If it isn't rebuildable (which I suspect it is, it "ran when he parked it") I will drop in a newer 5.7L fuel injected from an SS Impala. My wife wants me to go fuel injected anyways (how cool is that??) thats not my junk in back of the truck.. the seller took it out before I hauled the truck home. I call the thread the 'evolution of a '64' because I have no idea where this truck is going. Over the last 8 months I have thought about chopping it rediculously, sunroof, bodydrop, full out convertible with seats in the back to make it the party/boat hauler, etc. Where this truck ends... we will find out down 30 or 40 pages of this thread. let the good times roll |
