Coil spring questions.

I have got a 87 SWB that is in great shape except the previous owner lowered the front by heating the coils with a torch.

the bottom three coils are touching each other and they put the little rubber spacers between the others to raise it back up a little

My plans were to buy some stock springs and then use some drop spindles to get it back down. But could i just buy some drop springs instead? that would save me some money. i just want a basic 2/4 style drop for now.

so springs vs. spindles? pro's and con's?

I lowered my 01 with spindles and shackle hanger kit and it had a great ride but im wondering if springs would be the same?
