I have a 350 turbo... My pan gasket has failed...

How simple is replacing the gasket ? The trans was recently rebuilt so should i change the filter? What would b the cleaning, and installing tips? Would i need to use any type of sealant , what kind?
Also are there diff types of gasket shapes
Thanks
