700r4 question

Did a search and also looked in the engine/drivetrain section and couldnt find what i was looking for. Will a 700r4 from a 4.3 work on a 350. I'm looking high and low at the pick and pull yard and can only find 4.3/700r4's. And if they do fit what would be the best year to try and get. I would like to stay away from computer stuff and still have a cable driven speedo.

One other question while im here. I did a 3 inch drop on the fron of the 66 and put stock shocks on it. Do i need to order some shorter shocks because it seems to be sitting high still with stock ones installed.
