4x4 burb to 2wd burb

I have a 1970 burb 3/4 ton 4x4 that I don't need to pull a trailer anymore. Anyone ever turned a 4x to a 2wd. I am what I consider to be a pretty decent with metal, so cutting and welding is no prob.

I would rather put burb body onto a 2wd truck frame, or put 2wd suspension onto my 4wd frame.

Has anyone aver done this and what did they run into. Thanks.
