FRANKENTRUCK stereo phase I
Yo! Back again with my newly fabricated cab-corner speaker panels and new Kenwoods!
These panels were EASY to fab with AC plywood, scrap bracket material, and Crutchfield speaker fabric!! Each has a half round plywood top that is difficult to see: I decided to place two 6.5" 3 way Kenwoods in each since they actually have more surface area than a set of 6x9s. The Kenwoods are 92db, 35-22,000 Hz response, 40W RMS, and 240W peak each. Here's a pic of the assembled panels: These recess nicely into the cab corners enough to be able to still access the area behind the seat. I'm using 1.5" thick foam rubber behind the speakers in each corner to dampen rearward directed sound. Took a while to create paper templates, and many trails to form the outer edges of the plywood, but they fit like a glove now! Thought that others might be interested in trying this with their trucks,...cost me nearly nothing. Todd.
