Stock suspension

Anything wrong with that ? Looking at a GMC panel (late 40's -early 50's)
Want to keep it cheap. S-10 swap, Mustang II swap etc. don't interest me.
Is it just safer brakes and ride quality or the ability to go LOW ?
Why change ?
