Need some advice

I have a 454 out of a '97 3/4 ton truck that I have just finished rebuilding. I running roller rockers and will not be able to use short valve covers. The dilemma is the tall valve covers will not clear the ac compressor bracket. So should I go with an old school V-belt set up or modify the ac bracket were there would only be 3 out of the 4 bolts holding the compressor to the bracket. I have attached some pics that I found online to give you an idea of what I am talking about. By the way, I am going to be running a carb not the efi setup that you see in the pics.
