Yeah, I had a good weekend

. Popped the cover off the rearend and found a hand full of metal shavings in the bottom. Pinion was missing a tooth, and a chunk is worn out of the case.

So, the question is, should I pay the local 4wd shop to rebuild it, or salvage a 12 bolt from a parts truck or junkyard and install the complete axle myself (I don't want to try to rebuilt the rearend myself). Have the tools, space, and manpower to do the axle, but just don't know if it is worth the time & cost savings.
