NY 70 Blazing Rookie

Hello all! I've been checking the site and finding lots of great info and sellers for the parts I need. Just towed the 70/72 Blazer 50 some miles from Rochester on Saturday. It may look familiar to some cuz I bought it from a member, won't say until some of you contact and ask him. Came with an extra, and better hood, tailgate, 2 doors and some patch panels. Is solid except drivers floor and front cab support. Just disassembled today and found motor is 305 and not 350 as thought, Anyone near central NY with knowledge of a cheap 350 or 327 (yeah right) give a shout out. I am a near rookie as far as mechanic and body work. Luckily I have a virtual MacGyver as a nephew and his favorites are 350's in Blazer/ El Camino/ Early 70 Shortbed Chevys. I get to learn welding, fiberglass, paint(or at least the prep) and how to smash my fingers in too many ways. Thanks in advance for all the help you will bestow upon me!
