Some questions....

So I've been pulling Bessie apart to fix a couple small things like oil and vac leaks and to put a new exhaust manifold on the passenfer side.

First off is the carb, while she runs ok, she is really rich and pulling air from the base plate so i fugured id replace the gasket. The carb is strange to me, its a factory 4brl Carter? the manifold has a carter pattern, but really small secondaries compared to my edelbrock 1406. It is definately not a Quadrabog. I cant seem to find a gasket for it...

I also Ran the casting numbers on the heads and block through Moretec and it came back as a 327 w/ camel hump LT1 heads. The motor is all original to the truck as far as I can tell. Is this a common engine? or did the Original Owner order up something special.

Also the engine has a cable hold down system that bolts to the frame, looks like OEM and is stout. I think that may be a factory add on to keep from breaking mounts? ANy advice and knowledge would be welcome.....
