Studs too long

I recently put some MT mags on my 76 K10 and the rear studs were too short. It took me awhile to find some longer studs. I also had to look long and hard and finally found some small diameter lug nuts for the MTs. Well these are just a little too long now. Didn't find out until I had run the stud thru the end of one.

I don't know if I can find deeper small diameter lug nuts so I thought about cutting off the studs a little. I have no air and no way to cut them except with a hack saw.

Will that heat the metal too much and soften it or is that ok? Any suggestions
