Project 70 Blazer

Ok, I figured since i am hoping to get working on my blazer more I should start a build thread for it, so I can track the progress, and get input from others.

First, the specs as bought:

1970 blazer. Originally 6cyl, 3 spd
Currently has a running rebuilt 350 from a 70 impala w/ HEI and a SM465/NP205 in it.
previous owner did the rear quarters, and inner and outer rockers.
Converted to disk front, with new parts in and functional.
Truck ran and drove onto trailer, and into the garage.

Currently need to address:

Wiring is a mess
No fuel lines or tank
body mounts shot
frame scaled
no rocker/torsion boxes
front end off
rust on windshield frame
no door hardware
no bumpers
no interior
top rough
no roll bar

Plans:

The plans change often, but I think right now the plan is to get it running and in driver condition with the current setup, and then upgrade the suspension and motor in the future. I am going to try and make the truck as minimalist as possible, as the weather isn't always the best here, and I plan to drive it with the top off as much as possible. This means most likely a rhino-lined interior, marine grade seats, and a bikini top. Going to try and tuck as much of the wiring up as I can under the dash, and maybe make a cover that comes down to protect the radio and such. Looking to do a 6-10 point roll cage (family cage) for both protection and rigidity. The front will be swapped the the GMC front end, and a GMC tailgate added. In the future, I would like to go with a 5.3L or 6.0L and either and NV4500 or 4L80 if I can find them inexpensively.

Currently have:

90 blazer 31 gal tank.
take off rocket boxes and bed floor supports
3-6 of each wiring harnesses with various options
New Rally's with good 31's
1970 suburban parts truck
GMC tail gate
most patch panels

Pictures will be forth coming. Don't have them all here at work.

So this is the start of it. Hopefully I can stay on track and get this built to driver standards for next summer.
