HEI Distributer Conversion Wiring

I just put an HEI distributer in my grandfathers old '70 Chevy pickup that I own and was wondering what is the best (Simplest) way to wire it in correctly to the ignition switch. I think I read somewhere before that the stock wire isn't a heavy enough gage wire and a new one would need to ran. I temporarily ran a hot from the battery to make sure it would run with the new distributer. Now I want to wire it up correctly. Any help, link or a simple schematic would be appreciated.
Thanks, Roberty
