It might be fatal . . ....
for my daily beater. Driving home tonight after work, I felt a strange vibe from the gas pedal while climbing the steep curve on the mixmaster. When I entered the short section of hi-way that leads to my house I could hear the engine just rattling away. Got off the hi-way & it has a definite miss & lots of valvetrane clatter.
Got home & checked the oil . . . none. I looked down by the starter & notice I developed a serious leak by the sending unit on the side of the block (6cyl). I grab a rag to wipe it off so I can see what's going on & it comes off in my hand. The 1.5-2" section of tubing that the fittings connect to was cracked & leaked all the oil out on the way home. I've got to get an easy out to remove what's left of the tubing & put some oil in it & see how bad it is . . .... not holding my breath since it was missing so bad (was fine when I left work 15mins before). Had a sh!tty day @ work as well so I guess @ least everything is consistent w/my day.
