TH400 bolt on yoke VS slip yoke pro's or cons
I just bought a new driveline for my truck with a bolt on yoke.is there any pro's or cons to this versus a slip yoke? My old drive line had a Slip Yoke This is going behind a TH400 & 454BB on my72.I am doing the work myself so I have never done this.
How tight do I have to tighten the senter Bolt? I over tightend it and my truck didn't want to move I have now loosened it up and drove my truck but now All the oil came out of the tranny through the senter bolt and made a big mess under my cab and mufflers so I had to get it towed home.. I used lock tite on the bolt and some silicone around the washer but I don't understand how this would stop the yoke from sliding back and forth if it cannot be tighted alo. It doesn't look like I can just buy a slipyoke and put it on neither for they are different, Or Can I? Since I have done this I have now ruiend the new seal so I will have to replace it again with a new one. What is everyone useing any advise would be great thanks guys....
