frame difference?

I have a 1972 chevy 4x4 frame that I am going to put under my 67. They are both LWB, the 1967 has a cross member between the rear cab mounts for the driveshaft carrier support bearing. The 1972 does not have this crossmember or any holes for it.

Did the 1972 LWB 4x4 use a one piece rear drivshaft?

Could I just drill holes and move the crossmember over to the frame that I am going to use?
