Looking for suggestions

I have finally given up on my search for a drivers side fender with a fuel filler hole for the 83 c10. I ordered a replacement fender without the hole. I think I am going to use the idea someone on this site gave me and cut the fuel filler hose and mount it under the fender somehow. I am looking for suggestions from people who have already done this. It comes off the road during the winter, so snow/salt/sand kicking up won't be a problem. And I don't mind filling it underneath the fender (I am under that truck 1/2 the time anyway ). I guess I am looking for advice on how to mount the filler hose securely under the fender and any problems you think I may encounter. Thanks!!
