69 chevy fuel issue ???
Here's the problem. Drove the truck after it had been sitting for a few months while I had been working on the brakes. (brakes are great)
Parked it, then went to start it again five days later and it would not start. Poured some gas in the carb and it started for a second then died. Checked the filter in the Quadrajet 4 barel carb and it was pluged. Changed the filter and still have the same problem; can pour gas in the carb and it runs for a second and dies. Here's what I dont understand. I can break the line loose at the carb/filter and the fuel is under presure and will spray out so fuel is getting to the carb but aparently not into the carb. I checked the filter again and it's fine and in there properly. Is there something in the carb that could be totaly restricting the fuel or could it still be the manual fuel pump causing the problem??? |
