'71 K20 rear drum install

OK I finally got everything for the brakes, which included new drums and bearings. The PO didn't have all of the lock/retaining nuts (only 3 per side). I now have all four. The 11 or 12 spinney one was all chewed up. So which way should the spines point, inward or outward ( i think inward)? PO had them outward.
Is the sequence 6-notched nut, Gooffy lock nut (direction?), flat lock nut and then the last 6-notched nut.
