CruZin Truck Club Article
New Truck Club In Portland
By Rob The "ToonMan" Butler Portland, OR is home to many Automotive Clubs. You can find everything from the Classic Chevy Club, to Fords of the 50's, and even the AMC Rambler Club!!! One thing you can't find, however, is a Classic Chevy or GMC Truck club. Years ago there was a club for Classic GM Trucks in Portland, but they are no longer around. In June of 2002 a few GM Truck loving friends got together and decided to start their own club. Their trucks ranged from '56 to '78, and every where in between, and they wanted to get together and cruise with other owners of these trucks. With this the the "Shadows of the Night" GM Truck Club was born!! In July of 2002 the Shadows had their first get together, Cruising to the Truckin' Jamboree in Brooks OR. Since then, the Shadows have picked up many members, including quite a few from out-of-state. The "Shadows" are dedicated to the Restoration, Preservation and Customizing of Chevy and GMC Trucks. They have a Monthly E-Newsletter, "Voices from the Shadows". In it they have free classifieds and welcome contributions from members. Shadows of the Night is a small club and are open to all GM Trucks, but they mostly cater to the Pre-80 models. Shadows trucks are Stock, Full Custom, Drivers, and even piles of parts in a garage. Makes no difference to them, as long as it is a GM Truck!!!! The Shadows also have an MSN Group site at: http://groups.msn.com/ShadowsoftheNightChevyGMCTrucks There you can post photo's and messages for the rest of the Shadows to see! For More information E-mail Rob...The ToonMan at: RobtheToonMan@msn.com This article is to run in the next issue of CruZin Magazine!!
