Fuel Injection

I'm seriously considering switching to fuel injection, but I'm still trying to figure some things out here. Right now I have an edlebrock on my 350 sb crate motor and I'm getting about 9-10 mpg. Generally how much more mpg would you expect from making the switch to a tpi setup in these era trucks? How much would it cost to make the switch? I've cruised craigslist for a bit and it seems like you can get most of the parts for about 100 bucks, don't know about the computer and wiring harnesses though. Is it something thats hard to get installed and calibrated? I'm pretty good mechanically, but I've never once messed with one of these, so I don't want to jump into something like this and get in over my head, as my truck is a daily driver.
Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated

Jon
