3/4 ton rear ends?

Does something like a 2-1 gear ratio seem odd for a 3/4 ton? I'm pretty sure its an Eaton rear end. It has bolts on the front like a 9inch but I think it also has a removable rear cover. What rears were available back in 67-72 2wd. trucks. I'm thinking Dana 60's and Eaton or was there other options? Looking at a manual shows there were two different rating on Eaton's 5200 & 7200 lbs. Is there an easy way to determine which one you have without disassembling anything? I need to replace the pinion yoke and a few seals plus brake so any help would be great. Thanks
