corporate vs dana 44 front axle backing plates
This might be confusing. I have a friend that is building a SWB 3/4 ton 4X4. Started life as a swb 1/2 ton, but he has a small junk yard, and put together 3/4 ton 8 lug front and rear axle assys, along with a transfer case and a big block. My friend was looking for a front hub, which WHISKEYDENTED helped with. Went by to check on the progress today, and Donald was perplexed about why he could not get the front brake calipers to mount? I want all to know that he has pieced and parted together what he has completed.
We went for a walk today, and he showed me a " corporate " rear end where the front brake rotor did not extend past the dustshield/backing plate. The truck build has the front rotor extending past the caliper mount/backing plate. He had another set of backing plates that did resolve his problem, but he/I would like to know what is up with this. I do have a couple of pics, but they are on my phone. may not be smart enough to post them. Last edited by cparman; 11-14-2009 at 09:41 PM. |
