Turn Signal Help

So I want to customize my factory steering wheel, it is totally trashed. The plastic covering the wheel is completely cracked and falling apart. I mean 1/2 inch cracks even on the center. So until it's done I'm using a wheel from a 1988 2500, that's where my problem starts. The conversion went well but now the turn signals don't work properly. The right doesn't work at all, the left works half speed. I also took out my instrument cluster to replace blown bulbs. Yes I checked all bulbs and they are good now.
