wanna go faster

Any of you guys that are more experienced on the track than me help me out. got a 69 short step that I run at the local strip. 350/350 combo. Im makin right around 300 horse. 2.90 gears, locked up, 28/11.50 slicks, stock torque converter. all I can get is a 16.2. pretty sad huh. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I want to see 14s it is not my daily driver. its just a cruiser.
