88 rear end in 87

Hi new b from Houston Tx.Had question for you guys.As the title says Im in the process of completing the 88 rear end install in my 87.I went ahead an welded the leaf spring perches on the bottom of axle since I m dropping it also.My pinion angle is set -3 degs. The problem i have is the pinion yoke is different. The one on the 88 rear end is bigger then the 87 rear end and is not swapable. What do you guys think is the easiest way to fix this problem.I was thinking about cutting off yoke from drive shaft and getting right one welded on.Also how much in and out slack has to to be in the trans yoke with the truck on ground.I have about 3/8 of an inch. Thanks in advance
