Non Vented Gas Cap and EEC Gas Tank Question

Happy New Year Everyone,

I have a real simple (hopefully) gas cap question for you. I have an EEC Style Gas Tank and recently purchased a Non-Vented Gas Cap that is for EEC style tanks. Right now, I have a generic chrome locking gas cap. It fits lose on the tank and obviously vents real easily. My question is: is the non-vented gas cap a good way to go, or should I just leave the cap alone, or does it matter? I like the idea of a tight fitting gas cap but I'm not educated on whether that's the best thing for the tank. Are there venting issues I need to worry about?

Also, what's the deal with the EEC tank? Is there any extra maintenance or issues I need to worry about?

Thanks everyone.
