Radiator too tall?!?!
Need some radiator & core support help.....
I've got a '68 C-10 that originally came with a straight 6. When I bought it, it had a 305ci and a radiator that seemed to fit OK at the time. After rebuilding the engine and repainting the engine bay and core support, the radiator sits a bit high, preventing my new upper radiator supports from clamping the radiator into it's 'proper' position. i.e. the upper supports will bend at the bolts before the bolts are torqued into place. I don't think it's the stock radiator but the core measures 28 3/8 x 17 x 2 5/8, which seems to be common in a few catalogs that I've looked at. Well, the radiator sprung a leak on Saturday and it's been caked with too many years of hard water, so it's time to replace it. Question is: What size radiator should I be using? I want another 4-core, but what's the right height? Does the '68 core support fit the size of radiator that I currently have or something shorter Can anyone recommend any good new radiator suppliers? (V8 auto with AC) Thanks, Mike
