New TH350 Transmissions - experiences?

I am looking to get a new TH350 for my 69 as the current one is 40+ years old and is a soft shifting, leaky beast, that will not be able to handle the power I want my truck to be making in a few years. I am debating between the PA Stage one/two or the basic Jegs model. The stage one PA states it will hold 450hp and the Jegs says 400hp. The Jegs model runs $679, where as the PA is $859. I have also looked at TCI, Gearstar, B&M, Monster, Hughes, etc...but they all have a much higher entry price and don't even hold the same amount of power. It all comes down to money, because if my bank account was limited I would throw a beefed up 700r4 and a new rearend in my truck, but for now must stick with the th350 and 3.08 diff. Any of you folks have experience/insight with aftermarket TH350's that you could share with me on this? The PA has a good upgrade list and just seems like the way to go, thanks.
