Engine Dress Up Kit

So I ordered a new dress up kit for my sons 71 cheyenne. Problem is that the valve covers don't have holes for some hoses that are on his original valve covers. There are some hoses linking the two valve covers on his original ones. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this. Also his original air filter has an arm the connects to the exhaust manifold whats this for? The new air filter didn't come with this either. Any solutions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!
