60-66 4x4 QUESTIONS

I just aquired a 1963 3/4 ton long box 4x4 and I have a couple of questions.

1. I want to update the suspension to newer 73-87 3/4 or 1 ton disk, disk. The rear end has been switched to a 14 bolt full floater but it still has the 3/4 ton dana 44 front with drum brakes. Do you guys just change the nuckles with a newer 3/4 ton dana 44 or is there a doner that has the same perch width. I measured the purch width last night and compared it with my 74 blazer and it is about 3/4 of an inch narrower, that is why I was asking if you guys just change the knuckles. Any suggestions would be great.

2. My other questions is about the transfer case. Do you guys keep the T221 or do you replace it with something else? If I remember correctly ford and dodge made a divorced NP205. I have both NP203 and 205 married transmissions.

My plans for the truck is to make a tow rig for my wifes horse business with ocasional light off road. I will strech the frame and make it a crew cab long bed. For motor and transmission I am going wtih a 350 tbi set up and 700r4 transmission.
