Synthetic Oil

Checkig my Oil today, and I was a quart low.
Went to the Gas Station and saw that they had Chevron "Synth" 10-40wt.
I bought some Penzoil, but that got me to thinking.......
My Truck is due for an oil change. Would it hurt to have it changed over to Synthetic oil next time?
The engine is a 94 350 out of a Sierra Pickup. Nothing special, but just wanting to keep it around until I put the Stroker in this Summer.

I remember MANY YEARS AGO, when you changed over to Synth oil,
you had to slowly "introduce" it into your crankase.

I'm assuming thats NOT the case anymore?

Should I keep using the Penzoil/Castrol or change to Synth,
(or am I just wasting my Money)?
