S10 V6 Transmission on V8

I know it's not recommended to use a V6 trans on a V8, however, I have nothing else to use right now and this truck needs to be on the road again.

I am putting the 305 out of my old Camaro, and putting it into my '84 S10 that came with a 2.8L engine, 5speed manual.

Is the input shaft the same as on a V6 camaro? If so I know it will work with a V8. I have the V8 bellhousing, and after getting things apart it looks like I'll need a different clutch fork/slave cylinder. I think it's the slave anyway, the one that pushes on the fork.

Any info would be awesome! Thanks
-Paul
