Converting a 1969 blazer automatic th400 too a manual transmission
Alright let me explain my reasoning behind this most likely madness/taboo.
I TEAR UP AUTO TRANSMISSIONS! I killed 1 727 dodge tranny one th-400 one 904 dodge, and working on my 94 blazer which i dont know what tranny its got in there but its on its last legs. I have one vehicle with a standard that I cant beat up at ALL its a M-35 A2 deuce and half. I have done my research so it is possible to do this. There are kits for mopars, for doing this. Ive also found manuals with overdrive. I have been working on getting this truck to get best mileage possible. I have a theory that this type of swap and heavy modifications would be a lot easier in a older vehicle, than my say 2002 nissan desert runner? I have access to most tools for doing this. I have lots of knowledge on auto transmissions but practically none in the manuals. My blazer does not have original engine so im not wrried about modifying this thing, i even have a freshly rebuilt th-400 installed in it with say about 300 ft of mileage on it. right now it had a few collasped lifters so i havnt tested this out yet, BUT I WILL TEAR IT UP so id like some imput on whether this has been done to any of these year trucks and blazers.
Thanks
