sway bar

72 4x4 dana 60 front drive stock steering the truck had no sway bar and was great off road but from the front to back pressure from the steering the leaf spring aligning pin sheared off because of this i was told to install a sway bar which i did, out of a 78 one ton truck.i attached the front of the sway bar to the front cross member directly below the h-balancer. Will the slight upward angle be ok? I can already see a substancial improvement in handling on the street but the front suspension is much stiffer which tells me off road will not be as good as it was.Any info will be appreciated.I am planning cross over in the future but i need to make my setup work for now so i can fix some other more important things first
