ultimate parts truck..

a good friend of mine has a 91 suburban that he is wanting to get rid of. it is a FULLY optioned burb, and exceptionally clean. Its just high mileage and in need of some TLC to be a good driver (high mileage as in 150K or so.)

its a tbi 454, 700r4, blue interior, 3/4ton 2WD, power doors (including mirrors) dual AC, beautiful dash, everything is the same blue that I want to make my '77 K25.. it has factory blue buckets and console up front which I really want.. all the glass is perfect or near perfect, and I need a windshield.. power rear gate, ac, etc etc..

he wants give or take $4K for it.. Im willing to dump $2K in it for the 454 w/ serpentine, the trans, and the seats/console and glass.. I think I can part the rest out and get at least $2K... the bumpers, sheet metal, doors, 14FF axle, etc are all in excellent shape.. what do you guys think? I know the front clip alone is worth over a grand to the right person... am I crazy? I hate the idea of taking a good truck off the road, but what it would do for my truck would be unbeleivable. it would take years of scouring ebay and junkyards to find these parts.. the blue is what really sets it apart.. I could also give y'all first dibs on whatever you needed..

comments, suggestions, flames?

mike
