Question Sound like a good plan?

Well, I tend to skip around when working on my truck. I thought it would be a good idea to make a plan and stick with it. My problem is debating when I should have the interior re-painted...!?! Anyway, tell me what you think.

Truck Build-up Guide

The following is a simple and basic overview of my truck build-up sequence.

Rear Suspension---Being that I already have ART’s parallel 4-link and FBI step notch, I’m going to finish the back. Once those components are installed and I can manually inflate the air springs---I’ll purchase the front Cool-Ride kit.

Drivetrain---I’ll remove the engine, transmission, and everything in the engine bay.

Bodywork---I’ll remove the inner wheel-houses, fenders, and entire radiator support.

Front Suspension---After the suspension has been removed, I’ll paint the frame and cross-member. Once the PST bushings are installed, I’ll paint the control arms and other components. Next, I’ll install the suspension and replace miscellaneous parts as needed (Wheel bearings, etc.)

Bodywork 2---I want to shave/smooth the firewall and paint it the color of my choice. Cameron Park Auto Body or Lonnie and myself may complete this step.

Drivetrain 2---Henry and I will install a factory replacement GM 350 crate motor. Prior to installation, I’ll paint the engine and transmission. This step will only involve installing the actual engine, not the accessories.

Interior---I’ll remove the entire interior.

Bodywork 3---I’ll have bodywork completed in the following stages:

1. Cab

2. Front end

3. Bed

At this time, I am not sure what modifications will be done.

Drivetrain 3---After the front end has been bolted-up, I’ll install all engine accessories. During this step, I’ll also organize and detail the engine bay.

Interior---???

Wheels and Tires---I plan on running a 20/22” wheel combination with low-profile tires.

Braking System---I plan on purchasing a rear disc brake conversion kit, front upgrade kit, and new proportioning valve from SBC.

That’s it for now and I’ll see how my plan works out.
