New chevy truck owner from NC

Hello everyone. I was raised in a family of Ford owners, which I own one currently. My dad was a hard core Ford guy, but there was 3 things he always wanted to build, a '65 cobra, a '68 mustang fast back , and you guessed it a '67-'72 chevy truck. He always liked the look of this body style of chevy truck as do I. It happens that he was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2007 and from complications due to surgeries he passed away in April of 2008. My sister-in-law's brother has had a blue '71 C-10 sitting in his yard for about 3 years untouched. He drove this truck for about 5 years then just parked it. It ran when it was parked, so after talking with him and working out a deal I am the proud owner of a 1971 Chevrolet C-10 short box fleet side (my dad's favorite color was blue too). The truck is in pretty good shape with the usual rust in the passenger cab corner and bed, otherwise in decent condition to be 40 years old. I plan on getting the truck running to see what kind of shape everything else is in and go from there. Tons of great info here and I can't wait to really get into this truck build. Thanks guys!
