i just want to clarify... im not exactly sure what yall mean by "racey/exotic" tone??? are yall talking about the sounds that a honda civic 4 cylinder makes when a exhaust system is put on it?
I am implying a newer Vette, GTO, camaro type sound. Not the loud, raspy flowmaster, cherry bomb sound.

i was looking for a quiet muffler too. The edlebrocks arent as quiet as those cars, stock, i metioned but its smooth and mellow.

If you want a cheap x-pipe, call Full Line Exhaust. You have to call for them, they arent listed on teh website. They sold me a 2.5" magnaflow x-pipe for $17. over $80 at summit. In my opinion they make the strongest x-pipe i have seen.
